In 2012, Rice pitcher Scott Lonergan ’07 married All-American UT volleyball star Michelle Moriarty.  They presently reside in Southlake where they are raising three future “Dragons”. 

Michelle is the daughter of former Owl head cheerleader Debbie Harmon Moriarty ’76 (who also played volleyball for Coach Jimmy Disch) and former Owl basketball player and team captain Tim Moriarty ’75.  One of her sisters, Jennifer ’98, swam for Rice and is married to Justin Hyland ’95 who was a walk on for a year on the football team.  (Her other two sisters, Kiki and Courtney, graduated from Pepperdine and Texas A&M, respectively.)  Click here for a RUBPA 2013 interview with Debbie.  (Thanks, Clark Anderson, Jimmy Disch, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)
