On Saturday, Brock Holt set the MLB record for throwing the slowest pitch to be a called strike in the pitch-tracking era (since 2008) when he threw a 31 mph eephus pitch for a perfect called strike during a relief appearance for the Rangers. (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)

Lisa Weightman, the wife of four-year Rice track letterman Lachlan McArthur ‘02, is scheduled to compete in the marathon in her fourth Olympics tomorrow at 6 am Tokyo time (today, 4 pm Houston time), representing Australia.  Previously, she finished 33rd in Beijing in 2008, 17th in London in 2012 and 31st in Rio in 2016.  (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)
