Three-year starting Mountaineer quarterback Olivier Luck graduated Phi Beta Kappa from West Virginia and married Kathy Wilson ’79 on October 22, 1988.  

As noted in the Spring-Summer 1989 Sallyport's Classnotes section (page 29), their wedding ceremony was witnessed by numerous Rice alums including Kathy's parents, Dick '52 and Mary Ellen Wilson '54; grandparents, Bob and Mary Chandler Kinzbach '30; and aunt and uncle, DeWitt and Harriett Morrow '56.  (Thanks, Bill Alford, Joe Graves, Frank Jones and Mike Ross!)

Reagan Rutherford  is a member of the NCAA W Volleyball National Championship Kentucky Wildcat team whose father was four-year Rice football letterman Deric Rutherford ‘95 (1991-92-93-94). Her mother Latosha Clark Rutherford (SHS ’96) was a Sam Houston State W Basketball letterwinner (1994). 

Interestingly, Reagan and Owl Nia McCardell were high school teammates at Ridge Point HS.  (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)

Former Owl pitcher Philip Humber was drafted by 2 major league franchises in the same city.  He was drafted in the 29th round (875 overall) by the Yankees in 2001 and in the first round (3 overall) by the Mets in 2004.  (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!).
