Klaas Tadema (1940-2026):
On September 1, Klaas Tadema passed away.  Born in Brazil, he attended Rice (class of 1961).  He spent thirty years teaching math, primarily in Houston ISD.  Also, he was a man of many interests and was active in his church.  He is predeceased by, among others, his wife Dorothy (they were married for fifty-three years when she passed away in 2021). Herbert Simon s (1935-2026):
On August 19, Herbert Simons passed away.  A native Houstonian, he earned a BA in Economics from Rice in 1957 and a JD from Harvard Law in 1960.  He enjoyed “a long and distinguished career in law and was a nationally recognized expert in taxation” with Butler & Binion and Winstead.  Also, he was a “noted genealogist and family historian”.
