William Robin, a close family friend, is a regular contributor to the New York Times. Yesterday, the Times published his obituary of R Murray Schafer (1933-2021), “the composer who heard nature’s music”.
Ada Dean Grundy (1924-2021):
On August 16, Ada Dean Grundy passed away. A lifelong resident of Houston, she attended Rice (class of 1945) “where she was a member of the Pallas Athene Literary Society and the PALS Women’s Baseball Team and was an honoree at the Archi-Arts Ball”. She was devoted to her husband of fifty-seven years, the late Thad Grundy, and their family. Also, she was an avid sportswoman and competitor, she was passionate about art and she was active in the Texas Republican party as well as involved in her church and the community.
