Paul Leung (1923-2021):
On February 27, Paul Leung passed away. Born in Hong Kong, he emigrated to the US in 1949 after serving in the Chinese Air Force as a flight engineer during WWII and earned a MSME degree from Rice in 1952. He spent a “long and illustrious” career at Bechtel Power, rising to become Chief Engineer. Also, he “enjoyed fine dining, traveling, and telling stories”. Frederick Lux (1933-2021):
On March 4, Frederick Lux passed away. Born in Indiana, he earned a BA in English from Rice in 1955 where he was active in Rice Players and was manager of the basketball team for two years. After military service, he returned to Lafayette and joined the family business in real estate, home building and land development. He was an artist and he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and couples bridge groups. Also, he was active in his church. He is survived by, among others, his wife Bernie (they were married in 1956).
