Fred Boyett (1930-2021):
On June 10, Fred Boyett passed away. A native Texan, he earned a BA from Rice in 1951. He enjoyed a thirty-five year career with US Customs, retiring as Asst. Regional Commissioner in Houston in 1987. Also, he loved “hunting and fishing” and he “competed fiercely in golf for many years”. He is survived by, among others, his wife of nearly seventy years, Dorothy. Click here for the obituary.
Charles Koberg III (1935-2021):
On June 3, Charles Koberg III passed away Raised in San Angelo, he earned a BA (1956) and a BS (1957) in Chemical Engineering from Rice. He enjoyed a career with Convair, Monsanto Textiles, a wig and hairpiece manufacturer and wholesaler in Hong Kong and as a venture consultant. Charles Robert Gregg (1929-2021):
On April 21, Charles Robert (Bob) Gregg passed away. A native Texan, he attended Rice (class of 1951) where he met his future wife Margaret Minahan (class of 1953). He graduated from UT with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. “He lived his faith by quiet example. He will be missed by family and friends.” He is predeceased by, among others, Margaret (they were married for 67 years). Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Mildred Jenkins (1928-2021):
On May 27, Mildred (Millie) Jenkins, the mother of Barbara Gibbs ’73, passed away. She was a “force of nature”. Together with her late husband Tom (whom she meet on a blind date), they raised seven children. Also, she worked as the assistant to the Dickinson ISD Superintendent for fifteen years and she was active in the community as well as in her church. Click here for the obituary.
