Erminie Chapman (1932-2021):
On June 23, Erminie Chapman passed away.  Born in Arkansas, she earned a BA in English from Rice in 1954 where she met and married David Chapman who earned a BS in Architecture from Rice in 1953.  In addition to raising a family of one son and five daughters, she was very active in the community.  Also, "her passions were tennis, travel, and entertaining”.  She is predeceased by, among others, David (they were married for 64 years) and their son Paul ’75 who passed away in 2017.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.  

William Robin (Northwestern '10):
William Robin, a close family friend, is a regular contributor to the New York Times.  Yesterday, the Times published his obituary of Frederic Rzewski (1938-2021), the politically committed composer and pianist.

Grant Youngman:
On June 4, Grant Youngman passed away at the age of 76.  In 1968, He earned a BA from Rice and was commissioned as an ensign in the US Navy.  Also, he earned an MBA from Georgia State.  He taught computer science for the Navy at the University of Georgia in Athens.  He is survived by, among others, his wife Lena.  Click here for the Savannah Morning News obituary.
