Jack Burke Jr, who attended Rice in 1941 but left to join the Marine Corps during WWII, won the PGA Championship in 1956.  Dave Marr, who was a Rice freshman in the spring of 1951, won the PGA Championship in 1965.  Neither lettered in golf at Rice.  (Thanks, Joe Graves, Mike Ross and Jim Woodruff!)
