Leigh Henderson Cox Jr (1925-2021):
On April 8, Leigh Henderson Cox Jr passed away.  A native Texan, he served in WWI and then earned a BS in 1948 and a MS in 1950 in Mechanical Engineering from Rice.  He enjoyed a career at Humble Pipeline (Exxon) and at Brown & Root (Halliburton).  After retirement, he and his late wife Lorene (she passed away in 2008) moved to their ranch in Walker County.  Also, he “loved to travel and explore various cultures”.  Click here for the obituary.

Elizabeth 'Libble" Rice Winston (1942-2021):
On March 21, Elizabeth “Libbie” Rice Winston, passed away.  She was the Founder and Director of The Peaceable Kingdom School “following the tradition of pioneering education in her family”.  Her father, James O Winston, Jr, was the founding Chairman of the Board of St John’s School, her mother, Ella Botts Rice Winston, was a founding Director of The Jung Center and her great-great uncle, William Marsh Rice, founded Rice.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
