Sally Phelps (1935-2022):
On April 27, Sally Phelps passed away. Born in Atlanta, she earned a BA from Rice in 1957. She wed her college sweetheart George Phelps Jr ’57 and they enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage before he passed away in 2016. After teaching school in Houston, she and George moved to St Louis and then Dallas with their growing family. Later, she became a realtor, completed a Master of Library Science in 1983 and a PhD in Philosophy in 2000.

Robert (Bob) Howard:
On May 3, Robert (Bob) Howard passed away at the age of 85. A native of Oklahoma, he earned a BA in 1958 and a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1958 from Rice. He enjoyed a career with Shell Oil until he retired in 1995. He was active in his church and in the community.
