Yesterday, Ricky Salinas (3-3, 3.89) pitched 5.2 scoreless innings (7H, 1W, 8K) but got a no-decision for AA Chattanooga.

Also yesterday, Tristan Gray (.248) went 3-for-4 with a triple, a homer, 2 runs and 2 RBI for AAA Durham and Trei Cruz (.231) singled for Lo-A Lakeland.

2021 First-Year MLB Player Draft:
Yesterday, the 2021 First-Year MLB Player Draft was completed.  A player of interest drafted was Owen Holt (Harvard/Alvin CC) by the Reds (16, 480).  Owen is the son of Maynard Holt ’89.  (Thanks, Sten Gustafson ’89!).

Anthony Rendon:
Yesterday, Anthony Rendon was placed on the 10-day injured list (left hamstring strain), retroactive to July 5.  This is the third that he has been placed on the IL this season.

Player of the Week Honors for June 28 - July 4:
Glenn Otto and Ford Proctor were named to MLB Pipeline’s Prospect Team of the Week.  Also, Glenn was named Pitcher of the Week for the AA Northeast League.

Kevin McCanna (0-0, 1.80) pitched 3 scoreless innings for a no-decision for AAA Reno.

Yesterday, pitcher Carlos Rodon and shortstop Trea Turner were named to the 2021 MLB All Star Game.  In 2013, they helped North Carolina State defeat Rice in the Super Regionals.
