On Sunday night, Disney's animated movie Encanto won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Encanto's songs were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and accompanied by musical scoring by Germaine Franco '84/'87.

Jane Sanders (1938-2021):
On December 18, 2021, Jane Sanders passed away. A native Houstonian, she graduated from Rice in 1960. In addition to raising three children with her former husband Larry, she became a national award-winning elementary teacher. Also, she loved adventures, fabric of all kinds and feasts with friends and family and she was a voracious reader. Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
