Alex Quoyeser, the son of Joe Quoyeser '84, is part of a group of five former Brown University football players who own twenty-five percent of Hot Rod Charlie. Yesterday, their horse placed second in the San Antonio Stakes (G2) on opening day at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia CA.

Marty Belasco (1950-2021):
On December 5, Marty Belasco passed away "after a hard battle with cancer". A native Pennsylvanian, he earned a BA from Rice in 1972 and a master's degree in accounting from UH. At Rice, he was the Sports Editor of the Rice Thresher and one of his stories, in the April 13, 1972 edition, was entitled "Rice grabs three to clobber Horns".
