Dr Roy Edward Carter Jr (1928-2021):
On January 28, Dr Roy Edward Carter Jr. passed away.  Born in Louisiana, he attended Rice for two years (class of 1949) and then started Medical School at UTMB in Galveston at the age of 18.  After military service, he enjoyed a medical career in Houston from 1957 to 1999, mostly with the Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research and Baylor College of Medicine.  He was “internationally recognized for his work with ventilator-dependent spinal cord injured individuals”.  He is survived by, among others, his wife of fifty-nine years, Ruth.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
