January 14, 2010: RUBPA cordially invites all Rice fans to attend our inaugural Rice Baseball Alumni Lecture by Dr. Bill Martin on Friday night, February 5 at 6 pm at Reckling Park as part of Alumni Game Weekend. The topic of Dr. Martin’s speech will be “Moving Beyond the War on Drugs”.

Noted Rice baseball fan Dr. Martin is also the Harry & Hazel Chavanne Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Chavanne Senior Fellow at the Baker Institute. The recipient of numerous teaching awards at Rice, he has written several books and many magazine articles. Click here for more information.

Dr. Martin’s speech has been added to the ARA Events Calendar. Please visit the webpage here and RSVP so that we can get a head count in advance and we can notify you if the speech has to be moved to the R Room due to bad weather.
