Besides Meredith Schamun, there other Rice-Penn ties. Before becoming head men’s basketball coach at Rice, Scott Pera was an assistant coach at Penn (2012-14). Also, Vincent Armetta, who is Associate Athletic Director of Compliance at Rice, graduated from Penn in 2000 where he was a member of the Lightweight Rowing team.
