First, Melissa Kean added the following about Jackie Burke Jr:  “Rice has Jackie Burke’s papers in the Woodson. It's a beautiful collection of interesting stuff mostly about the history of Champions Golf Club. Ira Gruber of the history department had been a great collegiate golfer at Duke and was a member of Champions. He helped us acquire the collection and I got to spend some time with Burke, who helped fix my tendency to hit hooks!”
