Germaine (Petry) Franco ‘84/’87 was the first Latina to join the music branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  Today is the release date of her latest movie, the Disney animated movie Encanto.  The songs in Encanto were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and accompanied by her musical scoring.  (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)
