Rice Football:
Owls open C-USA play with win over Southern Miss (The Rice Thresher)

Jim Hess (1936-2021):
On October 2, Coach Hess passed away.  He began his football coaching career in 1959 and he was a defensive line coach at Rice from 1967 to 1970.  Later, he coached Angelo State to the NAIA Division I Football National Championship in 1978.  He is survived by, among others, his wife of sixty-four years, Carol.  Click here for the obituary.
