“Big Bill” Henry, the 1945 Bob Quin Award winner, led Rice Basketball to shared SWC titles in 1942-43 and 1943-44 and won it outright with a 12-0 conference record and a 20-1 full season in 1944-45.  Also, he was student association president in 1945.  He was inducted into the Rice Athletic Hall of Fame in 1970.  (Thanks, Joe Graves, Mike Ross and James Walker!)

On Tuesday, Tony Cingrani (0-0, 0.00) pitched a scoreless inning in his AAA Iowa debut.

Yesterday, Ricky Salinas (3-3, 3.89) pitched 5.2 scoreless innings (7H, 1W, 8K) but got a no-decision for AA Chattanooga.

Also yesterday, Tristan Gray (.248) went 3-for-4 with a triple, a homer, 2 runs and 2 RBI for AAA Durham and Trei Cruz (.231) singled for Lo-A Lakeland.
