Charles Gregg (1929-2021):
On April 21, Charles Gregg passed away.  A native Texan, he attended Rice (class of 1951) where he met his wife of sixty-seven years Margaret Minahan Gregg (class of 1953).  He graduated from UT with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  “He lived his faith by quiet example.  He will be missed by family and friends."  His wife passed away in 2017.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Harold Hoffman (1926-2021):
On April 19, Harold Hoffman passed away.  Born in Oklahoma, he graduated from Rice in 1949 after military service.  He worked for Gulf Publishing where he retired from the role of Editor of Hydrocarbon Processing magazine.  Also, he enjoyed hobbies like sailing and aviation and he was active in the community.  He is predeceased by, among others, his wife Kay.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Tonight, Rice plays UVA in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA W Soccer Championship.  On Monday, Bill Nelson, who has a law degree from UVA, was sworn in as NASA’s 14th administrator.  Interestingly, NASA’s 13th administrator was Jim Bridenstine who has an undergraduate degree from Rice.  (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)
