Trivia Answer:
Elvin Bethea ’68 was the first North Carolina A&T alumnus to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He played his entire professional career – sixteen seasons – with the Houston Oilers. Today, Rice faces North Carolina A&T in the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Championship in Omaha. (Thanks, Joe Graves and Mike Ross!)

Leigh Henderson Cox Jr (1925-2021):
On April 8, Leigh Henderson Cox Jr passed away. A native Texan, he served in WWI and then earned a BS in 1948 and a MS in 1950 in Mechanical Engineering from Rice. He enjoyed a career at Humble Pipeline (Exxon) and at Brown & Root (Halliburton). After retirement, he and his late wife Lorene (she passed away in 2008) moved to their ranch in Walker County.
