In spring training action yesterday, Lucas Luetge (0-0, 0.00) and Glenn Otto (0-0, 0.00) each pitched a scoreless inning for the Yankees and Anthony Rendon (.286) doubled for the Angels.

Frederick Lux (1933-2021):
On March 4, Frederick Lux passed away. Born in Indiana, he earned a BA in English from Rice in 1955 where he was active in Rice Players and was manager of the basketball team for two years. After military service, he returned to Lafayette and joined the family business in real estate, home building and land development. He was an artist and he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and couples bridge groups. Also, he was active in his church. He is survived by, among others, his wife Bernie (they were married in 1956). On Saturday, Mitchell Meissner finished T6 at -19 at the Coke Dr Pepper Open on the All Pro Tour at OakWing Golf Club in Alexandria, Louisiana.

In spring training action yesterday, Brock Holt (.188) went 0-for-2 with 2 walks, 1 run and 1 strikeout for the Rangers.
Philip Holt (1939-2021):
On March 2, Philip Holt passed away. Born in Mississippi, he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rice in 1962. After a career in the Navy, he worked for Entergy. While with the Navy, he earned a MBA from GWU. He was “an exceptionally good bridge player”, “an ardent bird-watcher” and “a music lover”. Also, he was active in the community and in his church. In spring training action yesterday, Tyler Duffey (0-1, 14.73) was charged with a blown save and was the losing pitcher for the Twins, Tristan Gray (.375) went 0-for-2 with 2 strikeouts for the Rays, Brock Holt (.214) went 0-for-3 for the Rangers and Anthony Rendon (.273) went 1-for-2 with a strikeout for the Angels.
