D’Andre Hardeman Sr, the father of Rice freshman football player D’Andre Hardeman Jr, was a running back for the Aggies.  His son plays the same position and scored his first career touchdown for the Owls on Saturday against UConn. (Thanks, Mike Ross!)

Four-year Rice football letterman Eddie Dyer ’36 (1918-19-20-21) managed the St Louis Cardinals to a World Series title in 1946.  He also lettered in baseball and track at Rice, winning the Southwest Conference championship in the broad jump in 1921.  (Thanks, Mike Ross!)
