TULLY BOWL BOUND
The SBMSA Junior Varsity Cougars finished the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record. The Cougars feature Reckling Park regulars Weston Wilkinson (#29 and a 4th grader at Hunters Creek Elementary) and Elliot Hammon (#00 and a 5th grader at Second Baptist). Weston plays quarterback and cornerback and Elliot is the tight end and a defensive end.
Weston attends Rice baseball games with his grandfather, Bryant Wilkinson ‘56. Weston was on the 2007 SBMSA Freshman Cougars team that won the Tully Bowl and, as starting quarterback, led the 2008 SBMSA Freshman Cougars to an undefeated season and a second Tully Bowl championship.
Elliot, who was also on the 2007 SBMSA Freshman Cougars team, attends Rice baseball games with his father, Paul Hammon '75. Elliot aka “Double Meat Double Cheese I Don’t Need No Stinking Napkins” is personally responsible for the profits of Prince’s concession at the Reck. Rick Behrend '77, Bryan Domning '75, John Eldridge '75 and David Swenson '75 are proud and honored (and careful) to have season tickets next to the great gourmand.
First round of the playoffs is Wednesday November 11.
