As the first alternate, four-year Rice golf letterman Michael Whitehead ’11 replaced Tiger Woods in the 2011 US Open at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda MD. This year, he has qualified for the final stage of the US Open during a local qualifying event at Lakeside Country Club.
Also, this season he has served as the new Director of Player Development for the Rice golf team. (Thanks, Chris Kohnhorst and Mike Ross!)
