Four-year Rice football letterman Earl Cooper ‘81 (1976-77-78-79) was the first Owl to score a Super Bowl TD by catching Joe Montana’s first career Super Bowl TD pass in Super Bowl XVI on January 24, 1982 as San Francisco defeated Cincinnati, 26-21.
