Warren Skaaren ‘69 was credited as the associate producer of the original Top Gun movie released in 1986.
As president of the Student Association at Rice in 1969, he “was at the very center of the Masterson Affair, the turmoil over the board’s appointment of William Masterson as president that played out over five days in February of that year and ended with Masterson’s resignation”. Sadly, he died of bone cancer in 1990 at the age of 44 in Austin.
