Ford Proctor:
Ford Proctor is playing for Perth in the Australian Baseball League.  On Tuesday, he hit a RBI single and a 3-run homer to help lead Perth to a 5-1 win over Brisbane.  He is transitioning to catcher.  Video highlights here.

Robert Hauck (1923-2020):
On Christmas Day, Robert Hauck passed away.  Born in the state of Washington, he graduated from Rice in 1949 after military service in WWII.   He enjoyed a twenty-six year career with TXDOT, retired and then worked another twelve years with METRO before retiring again.  Also, he was active in his church.  He is preceded, by among others, his first wife Gladys (they were married fifty years) and his second wife Lou (they were married almost twenty years).  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Karl Ludwig (1938-2020):
On December 15, Karl Ludwig passed away.  Born in Oklahoma, he earned a BA from Rice in 1961 and a MD from Baylor College of Medicine in 1965.  His wife, Ann Kriegel Ludwig, also graduated from Rice in 1961.  After military service, he enjoyed a medical practice with Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco until his retirement in 1998.  Afterwards, he was active in community service and he continued his study of music.  He is survived by, among others, Ann (they were married for 60 years).  Click here for the San Francisco Chronicle obituary.
