FALL BALL (September 22 - November XX, 2025)

September 22, 2025 - Home 5, Visitors 4 (7 innings)
The home squad rallied after going down 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth.  Home scored 3 in the fourth and took the lead with 2 in the fifth. 
  
Visitors scored 3 in the first on a double by Green and singles from Ashlock, Boehm and Smith. They would add another run in the fourth on singles by Boehm, Rios and a walk to Melendez to load the bases.  Ashlock walked to force in the run. 
  
Home answered in the bottom of the fourth on a lead-off HR by Chilcutt.  Davis walked ahead of Boccachica's HR to score 3 in the inning.  They would add 2 more in the fifth.  Boccachica singled and stole two bases.  A triple by Davila and a sacfly from Carlson added two runs. 
  
Fuentes (2 innings), Arnett, Brackin for Visitors and Fetchel, Sanders and Atchley for Home pitched shutout outings. 

September 24, 2025 - Visitors 8, Home 4 (5 innings)
After waiting through a lightning delay, the teams managed to play a five inning scrimmage.   
  
The visitors (Grey) scored 6 runs in the first and held off a late rally by the home (Navy) squad to win 8-4. 
  
Sharp walked.  Davis hit a HR to left scoring the first 2 runs.  Mayo relieved Eppley.  Boccachica reached on an infield error.  He stole second.  Following a fly out, Smith doubled him home.  With two outs, Rios walked.  Webb singled to drive home Smith.  Rios moved to third and Webb advanced on the through from the outfield.  Robson singled to center to score Rios and Webb.  The inning ended on a ground out to second.  6-0 Visitors. 
  
Grey added another run in the second.  With two outs, Boccachica doubled to left-center. He scored on Ashlock's single. Visitors up 7-0. 
  
Navy scored three runs in the bottom of the second.  West doubled to start the inning.  Carlson and Davila walked to load the bases.  Daigre's fielder's choice grounder scored West.  Carlson scored Daigre advanced on a wild pitch.  Motley doubled to score Daigre. Inning called. 

Visitors 7, Home 3 after three innings. 
  
Grey added another run in the fourth.  With one out, Sharp and Davis hit back-to-back doubles with Sharp scoring. Visitors up 8-3 after 4 innings. 
  
Navy added 1 run on singles by Daigre and Melendez and a double from Duffield
  
The game ended just before the rain hit. 
  
Final 8-4 Visitors. 

September 29, 2025 - Gray 2, Blue 1 (4 innings)
Today, the squads scrimmaged 4 innings.  Each squad would have 2 pitchers going 2 innings each.  Each squad scored an unearned run in the first inning. 
  
Traeger opened for the Home squad.  Away would score on a bunt single by Webb and a throwing error by the third baseman.  Three outs followed. In the second inning, Traeger gave up a lead-off single to Ashlock.  A strikeout and a 4-6-3 DP ended the inning. 
  
Home squad would score one run off Mayo in his two innings of work.  Bocachica singled to right and advanced to second when the ball got past the outfielder.  He advanced to third on an infield grounder and would score on a sac-fly to center by Smith. In the second, Boehm singled to right.  Three outs followed. 
  
1-1 after 2 innings. 
  
Zatopek relieved for the home squad.  He gave up a two out single to Sharp in the third.  Sharp was stranded,.  A two out HR to left by Green produced the final run. 
  
Brackin pitched the final 2 innings for the Away team. He retired all batters in the third including two strikeouts.  He followed with another shutout inning. 
  
Final Away 2, Home 1. 

October 1, 2025 - Home 12, Away 2 (7 innings)
The home squad dominated the scrimmage today with a 12-2 win. 
  
The visitors scored 2 runs in the top of the first after 2 outs. With Wiggins pitching, Davis walked.  Green singled to right field with Davis reaching third.  Green advanced to second on the throw to third.  Anderson singled to left with Davis and Green scoring. The frame ended on a ground out pitcher to first. Wiggins would not allow a run in the second.   
  
The home squad answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Boehm singled.  Smith followed with a ground-rule-double.  Runners at second and third.  After a strikeout and three walks, the runners advanced on a  couple of wild pitches with two runs scored.  The rally ended on a fly to right. 
  
The home pitchers would shutout the visitors in the next five innings.  Arnett struck out 3 and allowed only a ground-rule-double to Bocachica in 2 innings.  Ketchel pitched 2 innings with one hit, two walks and a single by CarlsonDooley struck out one and walked one with no hits. 
  
The home squad would score 5 runs in the second inning another one in the fourth. They would add two in the fifth. and one more in the sixth. 
  
The second started with four straight walks after an infield ground-out.  Smith got an RBI when he walked with the bases loaded.  A wild pitch scored a run.  That was followed by a three run homer by Ashlock.  Two strikeouts ended the frame. 
  
In two innings of work, Fernandez held Home to an unearned run.  After a quick 1-2- 3 inning in the fourth, Fernandez struck out the lead-off hitter in the fifth.  He walked Daigre.  An errant pick-off throw to first sent the runner to second.  Daigre stole third and scored on a fielder's choice. 
  
Through the first four innings, Home was ahead 9-2. 
  
Sanders would pitch the fifth and sixth innings.  In the fifth, Ashlock continued his hot hitting with a single to center.  West followed with a homer to score 2 runs.  With one out in the sixth, Duffield singled.  A grounder forced Duffield.  Daigre reaching first. Boehm doubled him home on a drive to right field. 
  
Kuhn was originally scheduled to pitch for the home squad bu would pitch the bottom of the seventh against the home team. 
  
Ashlock singled again but was picked off.  Kuhn closed the scrimmage with 2 strikeouts. 

October 3, 2025
Today, we played three two inning scrimmages and one of a single inning. 
  
Scrimmage 1. 
  
Home pitcher Sharp lived up to his name.  He struck out four batters, walked one and retired the other two batters on a pop foul out and infield ground out. 
  
Fuentes pitched for the visitors.  Baker hit a ground rule double to start the first for the home team.  Davis followed with an RBI single to right. A nicely turned 5-4-3 DP and a strike-out ended the inning.  In the second, Rios doubled with one out.  He reached third on a ground-out to first.  Two walks followed and Rios was picked off to end the inning. 
  
Home wins the scrimmage 1-0. 
  
Scrimmage 2 
  
This one ended in a  0-0 tie. 
  
Home pitcher Voelz pitched two shutout frames.  He struck out three and walked two in his outing.  He gave up a double to Green with one out in the fourth.  A ground-out and a strikeout ended the inning with no runs scoring. 
  
Away pitcher Traeger also pitched two shutout innings.  He allowed a single to Baker.  He then produced 6 straight outs. No runs or walks or strikeouts. 
  
Scrimmage 3  
  
Diaz pitched for the home team.  He gave up a one-out HR to Motley that cleared the right field fence.  Chilcutt followed with a bunt single.  He reached second on a throwing error.  Diaz retired the next five batters on four Ks and a ground-out. 
  
Duffield pitched for the Away team.  Davila doubled to right.  After two outs, he scored on a single by Baker to center. Bocachica would open the second stanza with a double.  He scored on a single to left by West that put the Home squad ahead 2-1.  Duffield would give up 2 runs, 4 hits, no walks or strikeouts. 
  
Home wins 2-1 
  
The one inning scrimmage followed. 
  
Brackin pitched for the home team.  Anderson singled to lead-off.  Three quick outs followed. No runs, no walks no strikeouts. 
  
Atchley pitched for the visitors.  Carlson greeted him with a monster shot to University Boulevard.  Baker singled in between two outs. Bocachica walked.  A fly to left ended the scrimmage. 
  
Home took the final scrimmage 1-0. 

October 6, 2025 - Home 3, Away 2 (7 1/2 innings)
Home/Navy squad won today's event 3-2. 
  
D. C. Brown started for the Home team. In his three innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits. He walked 2, hit one and struck out 3. The first run scored after a walk to Robson.  He was picked off.  Green walked, stole second and third bases and scored on a wild pitch.  Rios singled with one out in the second but was stranded.  In the third, Robson singled and Green doubled with one out.  Carlson's sac-fly scored Green
  
Arnett was the starter for the Road/Gray squad.  In his outing, he pitched 3 innings.  He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits.  He walked 3, hit 2, and struck out 2. 

Davis had a single in the first.  West hit a HR to left to score the first run in the second.  Visitors would score 2 runs in the third.  A walk, a hit batter and a throwing error would score Chilcutt and end with Daigre on third. A sac-fly by Smith sent Daigre home. 
  
Home 3, Away 2 after 3 innings.  There were no more runs scored.    
  
Home pitchers:  
In 4th and 5th innings Wiggins allowed no runs on 1 hit (a double by Baker), a walk and 3 strikeouts.  In the 6th, 7th and 8th innings, Fetchel allowed no runs on two hits in the 8th inning.  He walked  one and struck out four.  The two hits were a single by Carlson and a double by Devenny
  
Away pitchers: 
In 4th and 5th innings, Fernandez allowed no runs on 1 hit (a single by Davila), no walks and 2 strikeouts.  In the 6th and 7th innings, Sanders allowed no runs with no hits. He walked 3 and struck out two. 
    
We will scrimmage 5 innings on Wednesday.  First pitch is 3:15 PM.  

October 8, 2025 - Home 4, Away 2 (5 innings)
The team played a quick five innings today with the home squad getting a 4-2 win. 
  
Each starting pitcher pitched a shutout inning to open the scrimmage. 
  
Traeger relieved for the home squad and retired all six batters he faced.  Four infield ground outs and two fly ball outs to center. 
  
Duffield releived for the visitors.  He was greeted by a Green single to left.  West then doubled him home.  Ashlock followed with a two run HR over the fence in deep left center.  Two fly outs followed.  Devenny walked and Daigre singled to right.  An infield single ended the second.  In the third, Duffield shutout the Home squad.   
  
Home 3, Visitors 0 after 3 innings. 
  
In the fourth inning, Visitors scored two runs against Voelz.  Sharp had a single to left to lead-off.  Motley bombed a two run homer to left.  Carlson walked.  Voelz retired the next three hitters. 
  
Atchley relieved for visitors in the fourth.  A walk was followed by a nice double play.  Rios homered to right to close the scoring for the day. 
  
After four innings, Home 4, Visitors 2. 
  
Atchley pitched a shutout in the fifth. 
  
Dooley pitched the fifth for the Visitors.  Robson singled with one out.  A fly to left was the second out. A grounder to short forced Robson.  No score.   
  
Final Home 4-2.
