Dr Damon Wells, Jr CBE (1937-2021):
On October 16, Dr Damon Wells, Jr CBE passed away. A native Houstonian, he was a direct descendant of Samuel Damon and Daniel Boone. He earned a BA from Yale in 1958, a MA from Oxford in 1964 and a PhD from Rice in 1968. He enjoyed a career as an investor (he founded Damon Wells Interests, specializing in mining with emphasis on the United States, Australia and South Africa) and a philanthropist.
