Bill Sandel (1945-2026):
On July 4, Bill Sandel passed away. A native Texan, he earned his BS (’68), MS (’71) and PhD (‘72) in Physics from Rice (Wiess College). After a brief tour of duty in the Army, he enjoyed a career of over fifty years as a planetary physicist, mainly at the University of Arizona. Also, he was a dedicated photographer and he loved to go camping. He is survived by, among others, his wife of nearly forty-six years, Karen. Click here for the Arizona Daily Star obituary.
