Penny Bell (1939-2026):
On May 27, Penny Bell passed away. A native Houstonian, she received a BA in English from Rice in 1961 and a MA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1975. She was a high school English teacher from 1961 to 1979. After earning a JD from South Texas College of Law in 1983, she practiced law until 2000. And, she and her late husband Alan founded San Jacinto Energy production Corporation. Also, she was active in the community and at her church. She is predeceased by Alan (they were married for forty-seven years). Click here for the obituary.
