Rebecca Monroy (1965-2026):
On July 4, Rebecca Monroy passed away. A native Texan, she earned a BA in Legal Studies and Psychology from Rice in 1987 where she met her future husband Roy Shelley ’89. After receiving a JD from UH Law in 1990, she enjoyed a thirteen year legal career with Collins and Lacy in Columbia, South Carolina. However, her favorite role was being a mom to three children. She was “a beautiful, kind, generous person with a sharp mind, a sophisticated sense of humor, and a quiet (usually) insistence on truth, honor, and helping others”.
