Charles Briscoe (1930-2026):
On May 4, Vic Briscoe passed away. Raised in Virginia, he attended King College and earned a PhD in Physics from Rice in 1958. Thereafter, he arrived in Chapel Hill NC “to do postdoctoral studies and never left, retiring from his professorship when he was 65 years old”. “He spent the rest of his life enjoying fishing, golf and helping his family and friends whenever he could.” He is survived by, among others, his wife of seventy-two years, Betsy.
