Diamond discusses BLS with former commissioner (Rice News)
Pat Hughes Verner (1932-2026):
On February 14, Pat Hughes Verner passed away. Born in Arkansas, she attended Rice (class of 1954). In addition to raising two daughters with her late husband Jim, she worked as a contract draftsman for the telephone company in Houston and later as an office manager for an orthopedic surgeon in Slidell LA. Also, she was active in the community and was a lifelong sports fan (New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers). She “will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and zest for life”.
