Phoebe and Bobby Tudor '82:
The Houston Business Journal has selected Phoebe and Bobby Tudor as the inaugural recipients of its Lifetime Achievement Award for the 2026 Community Leadership Awards, “recognizing decades of civic leadership, philanthropy and service that have helped shape Houston’s cultural, educational and economic landscape". Gordon Grubbs (1940-2026):
On January 13, Gordon Grubbs passed away, after a sharp decline due to vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Caracas, he earned a BA in Economics in 1962 from Rice where he met his future wife Clare Kollenberg ’63. He enjoyed a career as a credentialed actuary in Texas and Pennsylvania. And “he was generous, curious, smart, and ridiculously silly”. He is predeceased by Clare (they were married for sixty years when she was also lost to Alzheimer’s disease in 2023).
