John Kemper (1944-2026):
On January 9, John Kemper passed away from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Born in California, he was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rice, earning a BA in 1966 and a PhD in 1970, both in Mathematics. He spent most of his career as a Professor of Mathematics at the University of St Thomas, retiring after thirty-five years in 2011. “He was a stellar student, professor, and family man”. He is survived by, among others, his wife of fifty-eight years, Sallie ’68. Click here for The Minnesota Star Tribune obituary.
