Cooper Mackin (1933-2026):
On January 2, Cooper Mackin passed away. Born in Alabama, he earned a BA from Troy State in 1956, a MA from Tulane in 1958 and a PhD from Rice in 1962, all in English. He was a long-time faculty member at the University of New Orleans (1963-1997) including serving as Chancellor. Also, he was active in his church. He is survived by, among others, his wife of forty years, the Rev Marry Ruetten Mackin. Click here for the obituary.
