Billy Joe Martin (1933-2025):
On December 31, Billy Joe Martin passed away. A native Texan, he earned a BS in 1962 and a MS in 1963 from the University of Southern Mississippi as well as a PhD in 1970 from Rice. All the degrees were in Biology. After military service, he was a professor and administrator at Southern Miss, where he served for many years. After retirement, he continued his dedication to education at William Carey University. Also, he was active in the community and in his church. He was predeceased by, among others, his wife Jerry (they were married for fifty-seven years). Click here for the obituary.
