Sheila Mahan (1945-2025):
On August 18, Sheila Mahan passed away. Raised in New England, she earned a BA (’67) and a MA (’69) in Geology from Rice. She called Oregon home for fifty-five years. She began her professional career in the Geology Department of the University of Oregon as a technical writer and lab manager. In the early 1990s, she moved from Eugene to Portland to become the Customer Services Manager at the Portland Bureau of Information Services. She retired after thirty years in local Oregon government.
