Mike Evans (1942-2025):
On July 17, Robert Michael (Mike) Evans ’65 passed away. After earning his BSME at Rice and PhD at Stanford and serving in the US Navy, he had a distinguished career in the electric power industry. After retiring, he served as President of Rice Engineering Alumni (2014-2015) and in many roles with the Jones School of Business. Mike was proud of his own and his family’s many Rice ties, including wife Jane Marshall Evans ’68, daughter Jen Evans Arntzen ’92, son-in-law Chris Arntzen ’92, son Jim Evans ’95, and grandson Maxwell Evans ’29.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, at Bradshaw-Carter, 1734 W Alabama St, Houston. Click here for the obituary and here for a tribute from REA.
