Sofia Adrogue '88:
In June, Governor Abbott appointed Sofia Adroque to be a judge of the new Eleventh Business Court Division in Houston for a two year term beginning September 1. She received a BA in English and Legal Studies from Rice in 1988, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Read more.
Gregg Edwards (1940-2024):
On September 12, Gregg Edwards passed away. A native Texan, he graduated from Rice (class of 1962) with a BA, MA and a PhD in Physics. He “was an intellectual of a global magnitude, who dedicated his life to understanding the past, present and the future of human civilization”. Among other organizations, he worked for the National Science Foundation and the DC Advisory Neighborhood Commission. He is survived by his sister Carolyn.
