Warren Skaaren '69:
‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, one of the most successful independent films of all time, turns fifty years old this month. The late Warren Skaaren ’69 suggested the title of ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’.
Clifford Shapiro (1956-2024):
On September 20, Clifford Shapiro passed away. A native Houstonian, he earned a degree in Political Science from Rice in 1979 and a JD from Columbia Law School. He enjoyed a forty-two year career as a lawyer for some of the nation’s leading financial institutions, including Providian Financial and Wells Fargo. Also, he was a world traveler, an enthusiastic trombone player and he possessed a love of learning. He is survived by, among others, his wife Doreen.
