Maurine Byee (1934-2024):
On August 14, Maurine Bybee passed away. A native Texan, she graduated from Rice in 1956. Together with her husband David, they raised four children. Also, she was active in her church and in the community. She was one of the founders of Nehemiah Neighborhood Center, an organization providing a safe have for children in the local community. And, she and David enjoyed traveling as well as organizing and hosting a family camp for their grandchildren one week every summer for twelve years. She is survived by, among others, David (they were married for sixty-eight years). Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
