Jerry Priest (1929-2024):
On April 19, Jerry Priest passed away. A native Texan, she entered Rice in 1947, withdrew after her sophomore year to marry Denton Priest and returned to complete her history degree in 1966. In addition to raising three children with Denton, she was very committed to Rice. She was a founding member of the Shepherd Society, established in 1975 to support the new Shepherd School. And, she ran her class of 1951 Golden Reunion project. Also, she loved history and writing. She is predeceased by, among others, Denton. Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
