Carolyn Anne Smith Managan:
On October 27, Carolyn Managan passed away after a three-year battle against ALS. Born in Oklahoma, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rice in 1971. Later, she earned a Master of Education from UH. She enjoyed a career as a high school math teacher, first at Cypress Fairbanks for eight years, and then after a break to begin a family, at Episcopal for twenty-seven years. Also, she was devoted to her family and was passionate about music as well as being active at her church and in the community. She is survived by, among others, her husband of fifty years, Michael.
