Dr Leisa Townsley (1964-2022):
On August 8, Dr. Leisa Townsley passed away “after a long battle with cancer”.  In 1987, she earned a BA from Rice with a double-major in physics and mathematical sciences and in 1994, she earned a PhD in physics from the University of Wyoming.  She and her Life partner, Patrick Broos, worked together for twenty-eight years at Penn State on projects related to NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory.  (In 2006, she gave a fascinating interview to the Chandra Chronicles.)  Click here for the Tulsa World obituary.
