    Championship Bracket Announced Yesterday:
    The 8 national seeds (in numerical order) are Florida, Louisville, Miami, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Clemson and LSU.  Click here for the complete bracket. 

    Rice is the (2) seed at the LSU Regional joining (1) LSU, (3) Southeastern Louisiana and (4) Utah Valley.  Rice is set to play Southeastern Louisiana at 7 pm CT on Friday on ESPN3.  The LSU Regional is paired with the North Carolina State Regional featuring (1) North Carolina State, (2) Coastal Carolina, (3) St Mary’s and (4) Navy.

    Mike Willatt (1935 - 2016):
    On May 3, Mike Willatt passed away.  A native of England, he received a BS in chemistry from Queen Mary University of London, he studied chemistry at Rice (class of 1958) for 2 years on a Fulbright grant and then earned a law degree from UH.  He enjoyed a legal career in both the private and public sector.  Also, he especially enjoyed playing golf with his friends.  He is survived by, among others, his wife of 30 years, Corinne.  Click here for the Austin American-Statesman obituary.
