    MLB/MiLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
    Jon Duplantier (4-0, 0.64) threw 6 shutout innings for the win for A Kane County.  In 6 starts at home totaling 32.1 innings, Jon has not allowed an earned run.

    Paul Janish (.255) went 2-for-4 with a RBI for AAA Norfolk and Josh Rodriguez (.279) provided the winning runs with a 2-run homer in the 7th for AAA Las Vegas.

    Don Douglass (1931 - 2017):
    On March 27, Don Douglass passed away.  He attended Rice (class of 1953) and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UT in 1954 and a MBA from Stanford in 1959.  In addition to serving in the Navy between 1954-58, he founded the Alamo Group in Seguin in 1969 and served as chairman from 1969 to 2011.  In 1982, the Douglass Foundation was established.  Also, he was active in his church.  Click here for the San Antonio Express-News obituary.

    OJ Brigance is the only football player to win a CFL and NFL championship in the same city (Baltimore).  Tomorrow, Rice Athletics hosts a day honoring OJ.  Read more. 

    Among those attending will be former Owl and 14-year NFL veteran Larry Izzo. Interestingly, OJ (St Louis) and Larry (New England) faced off against each other in Super Bowl XXXVI on February 3, 2002.
