    On May 30, Blake Fox (12-0, 1.46) was named one of ten semifinalists for the Pitcher of the Year Award, presented by the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.  On June 28, LSU's Aaron Nola received the Award.

    Owls in the NFL (Thanks, Fort Bend Owl!):
    The following Owls made the 53-man roster: Vance McDonald (San Francisco), Luke Willson, (Seattle), James Casey (Philadelphia), Andrew Sendejo (Minnesota), Scott Solomon (Tampa Bay) and Phillip Gaines (Kansas City).  Also, New Orleans placed Cheta Ozougwu on injured reserved.
