  • Rice Baseball 

    On May 30, Blake Fox (12-0, 1.46) was named one of ten semifinalists for the Pitcher of the Year Award, presented by the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.  On June 28, LSU's Aaron Nola received the Award.

    MLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
    Jared Rogers (6-2, 3.18) was the winning pitcher "in a brilliant outing" for AA Jacksonville, Chase McDowell (0-1, 4.50) recorded a save for SS Auburn and Zech Lemond (1-1, 4.61) got a no-decision for SS Eugene.

    Anthony Rendon (.279) made a diving stop for Washington.  Jeremy Rathjen (.268) went 2-for-4 with a run, a RBI and a strikeout for Hi-A Rancho Cucamonga, Michael Ratterree (.244) went 2-for-5 with 2 doubles, a run and a RBI for A Wisconsin, Skyler Ewing (.346) went 4-for-5 with 2 doubles (both off Zech Lemond), 2 runs and a strikeout for SS Salem-Keizer and Shane Hoelscher (.250) went 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI and a strikeout for the second game in a row for SS Tri-City.

    In August, the Santa Barbara Foresters, featuring Jon Duplantier, Ford Stainback and John Williamson, begin play at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  The Foresters have won the NBC World Series title 4 times since 2006.  Read more.
