    On May 21, Bryan Price was placed on the temporarily inactive list.  And, on Tuesday, JT Chargois was promoted to AA Chattanooga from Hi-A Fort Myers.

    David Aardsma
    (0-1, 2.55) recorded his league-leading 15th save for AAA Oklahoma City and John Simms (2-4, 4.60) was the winning pitcher for Hi-A Potomac.  Read more

    Josh Rodriguez (.306) went 2-for-4 with a strikeout for AA Binghamton and Shane Hoelscher (.353) homered for the second game in a row for A Asheville.

    Wesley Wallace (1950 - 2015):
    On May 10, Dr Wesley Wallace passed away after a year fighting cancer.  A native New Yorker, he received a BA from Rice in 1972 and a masters and PhD from the University of Washington in 1976 and 1981, all in Geology.  After working for Arco Alaska, he was a member of the faculty of the University of Alaska Fairbanks for 30 years and was recognized as a world-class field geologist.  Click here for the Daily News-Miner obituary.

    Rice Athletic Hall of Fame member Wendy Wood-Yang ’86, a four-year tennis letter-winner (1983-84-85-86) and a two-time All-American (1985-86), is the daughter of knuckleballer Wilbur Wood, a three-time MLB All-Star (1971-72, 1974).  Effective May 1, Decker Brands appointedWendy, previously a general manager at New Balance, as the new brand president for Teva. 

    Way to go, Jimmy Disch, Tom Stallings, Ted Richard, Rick Sheridan, Rod Boane, Bob Reinhold, Betty Bixby, Ann Bixby, Peter Fasullo, Bev Schorre, Bryant Wilkinson, Sallie Schwall and Mike Ross!
