    MLB/MiLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
    John Simms
    (7-4, 3.08) pitched 5 shutout innings but got a no-decision in game 2 for AA Harrisburg and Zech Lemond (3-4, 6.11) was the losing pitcher for Hi-A Lake Elsinore.

    Anthony Rendon (.257) went 2-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI for Washington.  Shane Hoelscher (.262) tripled for Hi-A Modesto.

    Nancy Akers (1925 - 2016):
    Nancy Akers, the wife of longtime Rice professor Bill Akers, has passed away.  She was a founding member of the Shepherd Society and supported the Shepherd School through scholarships.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
