    Boston Marathon (Thanks, Russell Henderson!):
    Among the runners with Rice ties who competed in the Boston Marathon yesterday were Dr. Marissa Daniels Jamieson ‘08 with a time of 3:12:19 and Lisa Thompson ‘90 with a time of 3:52:33, good for second place in the Women’s Visually Impaired Division.

    UH Athletics:
    Former Rice Senior Executive Athletic Director and interim AD David Sayler is one of the three finalists for the UH AD position.  Presently, he is Miami University (Ohio) AD.  Read more.

    Katie Rice (1970 - 2015):
    On March 17, Katie Rice passed away after a battle with cancer.  In 1991, she earned a BA in Mathematical Sciences (Hanszen) from Rice where she was a four-year letterwinner in swimming.  She grew up in Los Angeles and lived in Houston and Denver before moving to Maryland in 2014, where she and her husband Mike McGehee were married shortly before her death.  Katie’s professional career was in the energy industry, including the past 16 years as Director of Regulatory Affairs at DCP Midstream in Denver.  She loved traveling, her black Labrador dogs, her family and many, many friends. 

    A celebration of Katie’s life will be held this Saturday, April 25,, at 2 pm at Southwest Central Church of Christ, 4011 W Bellfort, Houston.  Friends and family are also invited to meet for breakfast at 9 am on Saturday at the Buffalo Grille, 4080 Bissonnet.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
